Some engineering firms sell drawings. We deliver responsibility. Behind this firm stands a single person – and that is not a disadvantage, but a statement of intent. I am Marian Lohmann, mechanical engineer, International Welding Engineer, former quality manager, project lead – and a trained industrial mechanic who welded himself before he started calculating. This combination of hands-on foundation and academic depth is no coincidence. It is the core of everything I do.
My path was not straightforward – it was right. From tools to drawings, from drawings to projects, from projects to responsibility for millions. I have designed assemblies for rock crushers, inspected components for water turbines worldwide, and developed suppliers on four continents into what they are for me today: reliable partners you can count on when it matters most.
As overall project lead, I was responsible for one of the most groundbreaking plant engineering projects in recent years: the world's first commercial project using a new environmental technology at industrial scale – realized in Iceland, with a contract volume of 42 million euros. A plant of this kind had never existed anywhere in the world before. No reference project, no blueprint, no predecessor. Around 600 tonnes of steelwork, 12 kilometres of pipework, 30 vessels – from process engineering design through to on-site construction in Iceland. Anyone who has ever been responsible for something that did not exist before knows what engineering truly means.
Before that, I was deputy project lead for the balance of plant of a combined cycle power plant at a paper mill – from design through to commissioning.
Pressure vessels we designed and calculated are today in operation at power plants around the world. Among them a hydrogen tank with 50 mm wall thickness, 12 metres in length and 40 bar internal pressure. And around 350 tonnes of pipe supports for a nuclear power plant in Turkey.
I am not telling you this to impress. I am telling you so you know who you are dealing with.
What sets me apart from a conventional engineering firm is not only my background – it is my network. I work with highly qualified design teams in Egypt, Ukraine, India and Vietnam. This means: I select the best people for each project – regardless of where in the world they are based. Talent knows no borders, and neither does my partner structure.
At the same time, I am no desk engineer. I get my hands dirty on site, know the difference between theory and reality from first-hand experience, and make decisions – under pressure, even when it is uncomfortable. When something was not going to plan on a construction site or at a supplier anywhere in the world, I was the one they sent. Because I solve problems instead of managing them. Because I make decisions instead of postponing them. And because I deliver results even in the most difficult situations under pressure – without excuses.
